What is leaky gut?
Leaky gut, also known as increased intestinal permeability, is a digestive condition in which undigested food particles, bacteria and toxins are able to “leak” through the intestinal wall entering your blood circulation.
If you have several intolerances to different foods and are experienced increased food intolerances over time then leaky gut is the root cause of this problem and nothing will put it right until you heal the lining of your gut wall.
The intestinal wall is so thin and delicate to allow for the absorption of nutrients into the bloodstream, as that is it’s number one job.
The body, however, was not designed to have to deal with chronic stress, medications, and toxins (all of which damage the intestinal lining) on such a large scale and this is why so many people suffer from symptoms (such as food intolerances, asthma, eczema, autoimmune conditions, brain fog, rheumatoid arthritis etc) with leaky gut at the root cause. Mainstream medical professionals do not recognize leaky gut as a real condition.

How do you test for a leaky gut?
The cells lining the itestines are held together by ‘tight juntions’. Zonulin is a protein found in the body that can open these tight junctions between cells that line your intestines. If triggered too much, it can lead to undesirable particles entering your blood circulation, including zonulin itself. Therefore, zonulin levels are tested to assess whether or not your gut is leaky. If levels in the blood are high then it means your gut is very leaky. Once you know that you have a leaky gut it is easy to repair by following approximately a 4 week protocol.
